The Perfect Bulbs For Your New Lights

Choosing the perfect home lighting can make a massive difference to your house. However, some people stop at just the fixtures, forgetting that the bulbs themselves can make a major difference. Whilst many years ago the fitting or lightshade would have been the only real way to change the way the lights looked in a room, much can now be done with light bulbs to also add to the ambience of a room.
There are three main types of bulb: incandescent, fluorescent and Halogen light bulbs. Incandescent lighting is akin to setting your house on fire to get it brighter. Well, maybe that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but the majority of energy given off by them is heat, with only 10% being converted into light. Fluorescent bulbs on the other hand are much more energy efficient and perfect for places such as the kitchen that may have the lights on a lot and don’t need any special mood created.
Halogen bulbs on the other hand are the most natural looking lights, and it is these that can be utilised perfectly to get great looking rooms, whilst also being significantly more efficient than incandescent bulbs and offering the same ambient effects. Using coloured lights can also help significantly in creating a mood.
