Interior Decoration with Blinds

Interior decoration is an important and necessary to make an aesthetic and functional area. In addition to carpets and furniture, curtains or blinds are also very important aspects in the design of a room. Especially in a room with many pattern, windows, style and color of curtain chosen is very important. It is also imperative that the design of window covering is such that it blends into the wall. Otherwise, the presence of too gaudy awnings makes the upper house and looks flashy. The word “blind” is generally used to describe any type of covering for a window. This includes coatings such as shutters of skeleton and of course the horizontal or vertical blinds.

A window blind is specifically grating covering a window in wood, metal or fabric. The slats overlap. The blind can be opened or closed by the rotating blades in different directions. This can be done manually or it can be operated by a machine. Usually, if the mechanism is not motorized, the strips are moved with a rope which can be rotated. There are a number of different types of blinds, such as Hunter Douglas and Bali Blinds. They can be made from vinyl or may even be metallic in nature. The blinds are usually equipped exactly the window size and are very convenient to use. If the blinds are made from fabric, the maintenance cost is high, but in the case of metal blinds maintenance costs are very low.

Before you go to the store you should know a bit about the available carpet types you’re going to be presented with. Acrylic carpeting is very similar to wool (wool is considered the best carpeting available) and is sometimes called man-made wool. It resists moisture, fading, mildew, crushing and staining but is not recommended for high traffic areas in the home. Nylon carpeting is popular due to it’s durability. It resists mildew, staining and soiling. Nylon carpet is recommended for all traffic areas. It is one of the most expensive of the synthetic fibers but cheaper than wool. Olefin is a very low cost easy care material that is often used in indoor/outdoor carpeting. Olefin is colorfast and strong and easy to clean. One drawback to olefin is that it can be easily crushed depending on the pile. Polyester is luxurious and durable however is not good for high traffic areas in the home. Read the rest of this entry »
